Grammar Notes
- に行きます for destination
- 公園に行きました marks the park as the place they went to. 近くの公園に is “to a nearby park.”
- て-form for sequence
- ベンチに座って、少し休みました links two actions: sit, then rest. The て-form is not a second past tense.
- うちの + noun
- うちの犬です uses うちの as a casual “my/our.” Together with すみません, the man apologizes and says the dog is his. かわいいですね is a comment about the dog, not a question that needs a long answer.
