あさわたしえきまえのパンきました。あたたかいパンをふたいました。おみせひとは「ありがとう」といました。いえでおちゃ一緒いっしょべました。

朝、私は駅の前のパン屋に行きました。温かいパンを二つ買いました。お店の人は「ありがとう」と言いました。家でお茶と一緒に食べました。

In English. In the morning the narrator goes to a bakery in front of the station, buys two warm rolls, is thanked by the shopkeeper, and eats them at home with tea.

Grammar notes

  • に行きます for destination

    パン屋に行きました marks the bakery as the place they went to, not the place where an action happened.

  • 二つ as a counter

    パンを二つ買いました uses つ-counters for small things. Beginners can treat 二つ as “two of them.”

  • と一緒に

    お茶と一緒に食べました means the bread was eaten together with tea—not that a person came along.
